We employ our own experienced construction workers, so there are no delays with onsite contractor labour.
Controlled environment
Manufacturing in a controlled factory environment means there is no downtime caused by weather, making the process considerably faster. And, while we are building in the factory, the teams are onsite getting ready to take delivery and install the new structure - meaning we are able to make progress simultaneously on both the building and the site.
Cost-effective solution
VOLO Build NZ’s factory is based in Yatala, Queensland, Australia and therefore has access to Australian-priced building materials, which are significantly cheaper than in New Zealand.
With its controlled construction environment, there is less material waste which means we can be efficient with use of products, reducing cost.
Our research shows that constructing at our factory in Queensland, Australiaand shipping to anywhere in New Zealand is currently cheaper than building entirely in New Zealand.

VOLO’s offsite manufacturing construction technique reduces waste and pollution to minimise the impact of the building process on the environment. By building in a factory, noise pollution is controlled and water is better conserved. Plus, more efficient construction timelines give us lower energy expenditure and have less impact on the site and surrounding area.
Traditional construction produces enormous amounts of waste, most of which ends up in landfills or polluting our environment. With offsite manufacturing, construction rubbish is minimised as components are pre-manufactured in the factory. Modular builds also require 90% fewer site deliveries, resulting in a drop in carbon emissions.
Our all-in-one construction and finish on properties also means we can integrate the latest technology and eco-friendly building solutions for our customers; many designs feature integrated solar panels that deliver solar water heating and solar-powered lighting.
Our steel framed buildings are thermally more energy efficient, and steel is 100% recyclable as well as maintenance and chemical free. Consideration to recyclability of components and materials, and end of product life, is given to all of our designs.

Our structures are built with steel framing which is lighter and easier to transport, making it safe and effective to ship our structures to New Zealand and transport them across the country. As steel doesn’t crack, it effectively withstands the stresses of transport to the site.
Customisable for your terrain
Regardless of your chosen site, each offsite manufactured building we make is customisable and can be designed specifically for the land with careful planning and construction. This method is also often called modular because you design each specific part of the building in modules, meaning there are endless opportunities to customise each build.
