Our product

VOLO Build NZ is an offsite manufactured building company that builds quality, durable modular homes and structures which are shipped from our home in Australia ready to be installed on a range of terrains in
New Zealand.

How does it work?

Our buildings consist of components made in advance in our Queensland, Australia factory; rather than a traditional structure assembled piece by piece onsite. More advanced than kitsets or flatpacks, each offsite manufactured component comes complete with all internal fixtures and fittings like wall linings, ceilings, wiring, windows and doors installed.
They’re often called modular builds, because they consist of sections, or modules, which are constructed separately then installed together on site to create the final building. We build all structures to local building codes and regulations, and thoroughly inspect every aspect before it leaves the factory and once it’s installed on site.

What we build with

We use only quality solutions for our offsite manufactured builds, including steel framing which has lots of benefits:
  • Lighter and easier to transport
  • Can withstand the stresses of transport to site
  • Reduces build times because it doesn’t need to dry out – unlike timber
  • More flexibility and scope for design
  • Resistant to moisture, corrosion, high winds, seismic activity, and borers
  • Greater durability and weather resistance, and doesn’t rot or crack
  • Thermally more energy efficient, 100% recyclable, and maintenance and chemical free
All of our structures are built to New Zealand building regulatory codes.

the building process

VOLO Build NZ has developed an offsite manufacturing system for fast, affordable construction solutions, enabling us to cover all sectors of the market: housing, education, retail, aged care, and more.

Offsite manufacturing is fast – from the time construction starts in the factory until the building is ready for use is usually around 12-16 weeks. This timeframe includes the factory building phase (8-10 weeks in the factory) and the onsite fit-off phase (4-6 weeks on your land). Shipping time is in addition to this, and we will discuss this with you directly.
1

Understanding your needs

We will meet with you to discuss what kind of buildings you need; be it new classrooms, commercial premises, a housing development, or a multi-storey hotel. We’ll develop the designs and include you as much or as little as you’d like to create a solution specific to your needs.

Construction begins

All construction takes place in our Queensland, Australia factory. Offsite manufactured homes are fast to build, and will usually take around 8-10 weeks. Our offsite manufactured components comes complete with all internal fixtures and fittings like wall lining, wiring, kitchen cabinetry, ceiling, windows, and doors installed and these will be done during the construction phase.
3

Transporting to site

Then we’ll ship your product to New Zealand and work with local transport companies to deliver your product directly to site. Our calculations show it’s cheaper to build in Australia and ship to New Zealand, than it is to build from scratch in New Zealand.
4

Installing and final touches

Once each module of the building is onsite, we’ll install it to create the final structure. We’re partnering with local New Zealand companies for this phase of the work, including concrete layers, landscapers, plumbers and electricians. Once we're happy the building is up to our standards, and meets all local certification requirements, it's all yours.
